Meet my Little brother, Alex.

You might recognize him from other photo shoots, such as this creative musician shoot from last year. I've taken pictures of him for a long time (but I won't expose the embarrassing ones), but this photo shoot was the most exciting! Alex and I grew up singing and playing music together, along with our older brother, Adam. Those are some of my fondest memories from my childhood!

If I had to describe Alex briefly, I would start with his warmness and his natural gift to make everyone around him feel comfortable. He is a healthy leader and servant, often giving his time and talents to help others. He also gives great hugs and is a trusty listener. I'm so lucky to have a younger brother like him!

Meet his gorgeous girl, Grace.

An out-of-this-world singer, a wonderful cook, a godly woman, a thrift-loving fashionista, and a big dreamer are just a few ways I could describe Grace. Every time we hang out, I appreciate her smile and kindness a little more. She is genuine and caring; you can just see it in her eyes (check out her senior pictures from last spring, you'll see what I mean)!

When Grace leads worship, she has the ability to help the audience approach the throne of God with humility and reverence. The love songs she's written are incredibly relatable and could easily get stuck in your head all day. She is a loyal friend and puts others' needs before her own. Grace is beautiful on the inside and out!

Alex decided it was time to pop the question

The set-up for the proposal

After Thanksgiving dinner, I was off-handedly teasing Alex about when he was going to propose, and to my surprise he replied, "sometime in the next month." I was so excited! He had previously texted me all about how much he loved Grace and really wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. So when he told me he was ready to propose, I said, "you tell me when and where, and I'll be there to take pictures!"

We came up with the ruse that I wanted to take some pictures for a blog post (lol here we are) and Grace was completely on board! It wasn't even suspicious that it would take place on their one-year anniversary of dating. Alex decided to propose at the place he and Grace met, which they affectionally call "The A-Frame" in Columbia, MO. They both took music lessons there and their teacher had them perform together several times before they started dating.

We took a few pictures in front of the beautiful A-Frame and slowly worked our way to the perfect spot. Alex and I had pre-determined a cue that would prompt him to pop the question.

She said yes!

*Cue the happy tears and dancing*

May God bless you two with many happy years and lots of beautiful memories together.

love, your sister Anna
